38 years ago, Little Rock saw the biggest temperature drop that occurred over the course of 24 hours
Little Rock, Arkansas – This day, 38 years ago, marked the day that the city of Little Rock experienced the largest temperature dip in the history of the city.
The meteorologist, Todd Yakoubian, attributes this to the passage of a large arctic front through the state.
In the year 1985, the city of Little Rock saw a significant drop in temperature that began on January 19 at two in the afternoon.
The temperature was sixty degrees when the day began, but it gradually dropped during the day until it reached negative two degrees at two in the morning on January 20.
That is a change in temperature of 62 degrees, and Little Rock has not seen a temperature drop of that magnitude ever since.
