A 50-year-old manufacturing facility has announced its closure
Paragould, Arkansas – A long-standing manufacturer informed its workers that it would shortly be shutting down.
At a meeting held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, January 14, Tenneco informed employees that the company would be closing the Paragould factory.
“The company has decided to close our manufacturing operations in Paragould, Arkansas, which is a difficult decision,” Tenneco stated.
A timeline of job loss dates was provided by an employee.
It is anticipated that the first phase of layoffs will take place on March 31, followed by the second phase on April 15 and the third phase on April 30. Within 14 days after the aforementioned dates, the days could alter.
The plant produces shocks, struts, and modular strut assemblies as part of DRiv Motorpart’s aftermarket segment, according to the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce reports that the facility, which began in 1970, employed more than 1,100 people in 2022.
