A former Pike County deputy was detained for stealing firearms from the department
Pike County, Arkansas – After Arkansas State Police detectives claimed to have discovered proof that the former Pike County deputy had pawned two government guns, the guy is now facing prosecution.
After being fired in December 2024, 40-year-old Glenwood resident Brandon Vines failed to return a shotgun and rifle to the sheriff’s office, according to ASP investigators.
At the Pike County sheriff’s request, the ASP began an investigation in January and found that the guns had been pawned.
According to officials, Vines was arrested by ASP agents on January 31. They added that on February 3, Vines appeared in court for the first time and was given a $10,000 bond after turning himself in at the Pike County Detention Center.
According to the records, Vines has been charged with felony firearm theft. Both weapons have been found, according to investigators.
