A man was arrested after authorities say the drugs he sold killed several
Little Rock, Arkansas — A man was arrested with manslaughter charges after he sold pills containing fentanyl which caused several overdoses and death.
According to the White County Sheriff’s Office, a 30-year-old Jonathan Shaver was arrested on April 22 for the alleged distribution of drugs that resulted in the death of the user.
“The arrest of Mr. Shaver is a significant development in the investigation but is not the conclusion,” Sheriff Phillip Miller said.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, in recent months it has investigated “multiple unintentional overdoses in which the victim had ingested a pill or pills that, unknown to them, contained fentanyl as the active ingredient resulting in an overdose. Investigations that started with overdose deaths led to the execution of search warrants, seizures of evidence, and arrests which provided probable cause for the issuance of a warrant for Shaver,” the office said.
Jonathan Shaver was being held in the county detention center on a $200,000 bond.
