A resident of Little Rock has claimed a $100,000 prize from the Powerball in the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery drawing
Little Rock, Arkansas – A man from Little Rock has claimed a $100,000 prize from a Powerball ticket in the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery’s drawing held on Monday night.
According to officials, Owen F. purchased his winning ticket through Lotto.com for the drawing held on December 2. On Tuesday, he collected his winnings at the ASL Claim Center.
Sharon Strong, the Executive Director of ASL, stated that the online purchase was in accordance with the Play on the Go lottery policy.
“We are excited to collaborate with Lotto.com and various retailers to provide the Play on the Go option for purchasing tickets via retailer apps,” Strong stated.
According to lottery officials, Owen placed his order for a Quick Pick Ticket using the Lotto.com app, allowing the computer to generate his numbers for two plays. On the morning following the drawing, officials from Lotto.com reached out to him, urging him to check his email as he had won a lottery prize.
A ticket that matched four out of five numbers won a $50,000 prize, which was doubled due to the purchase of the Power Play $1 multiplier option.
Owen informed ASL officials that he intended to utilize the funds to settle certain bills.
According to ASL officials, the organization has generated more than $7.6 billion in sales since 2009, resulting in $1.4 billion allocated for 770,000 scholarships benefiting students in Arkansas. Players have received more than $5 billion, alongside $432 million in commissions for retailers, contributing over $180 million in tax revenue at both state and federal levels.
According to Arkansas law, individuals who win $100,000 or more in the lottery have the option to keep their identity confidential for a period of up to three years.
