A swearing-in ceremony for the new mayor in Sherwood
Sherwood, Arkansas – On Sunday afternoon, the city of Sherwood hosted a ceremony to officially swear in its new mayor.
Residents and officials from Sherwood crowded the Greens at North Hills Reception Hall for the occasion.
First-term Mayor Mary Jo Heye-Townsell expressed excitement about working with residents who had settled in Sherwood from all over the world.
“I’m hoping to be able to have more community involvement, to tap into some of those wonderful minds so that we can actually get more done in this community.”
The Sunday swearing-in ceremony featured music performed by the Calvary Academy choir.
Within a 20-square-mile area in Pulaski County, Sherwood is home to about 33 000 people.
