After thunderstorms struck the northwest region of Arkansas, the governor declared a state of emergency
Little Rock, Arkansas – On Saturday, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas proclaimed a declaration of emergency following the destruction of power lines in the northwestern region of the state by heavy thunderstorms.
That region of the state was hit by storms that brought with them heavy winds on Friday night.
According to the website poweroutage.us, around 7,000 clients in the state of Arkansas were without access to electrical service in the late afternoon on Saturday.
By relaxing limits for commercial vehicles transporting large loads with equipment to restore energy, such as transformers, the governor’s emergency proclamation is meant to hasten the recovery process and speed up the process.
