Arkansas defeats Central Arkansas 82-57 with a balanced attack led by 16 points from Boogie Fland
Little Rock, Arkansas – Boogie Fland led the way with 16 points as six players reached double figures, propelling Arkansas to a comfortable 82-57 win against Central Arkansas on Saturday.
Fland connected on 7 of 11 attempts from the field, including two 3-pointers, contributing to the Razorbacks’ (9-2) fourth consecutive win, following a thrilling 89-87 triumph against No. 14 Michigan. He contributed with nine assists, five rebounds, and five steals.
Karter Knox contributed 14 points from the bench for Arkansas. Jonas Aidoo recorded 13 points, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, while D.J. Wagner also tallied 13 points and contributed six assists. Trevon Brazile and Johnell Davis each contributed 11 points, with Brazile also recording seven rebounds and five blocked shots.
Elias Cato scored 15 points, leading the Bears (2-8), who are currently on a four-game losing streak. Layne Taylor made three shots from beyond the arc and totaled 13 points. Ben Fox contributed 12 points.
Fland contributed 13 points with an impressive 6-for-8 shooting performance, while Aidoo was perfect from the field, hitting all five of his attempts for a total of 10 points, helping Arkansas secure a 46-28 lead at halftime. The Razorbacks recorded an impressive shooting percentage of 68%, hitting 19 out of 28 attempts, and successfully converted 5 of their 11 shots from beyond the arc. Cato scored 11 points, leading the Bears, who struggled with a shooting percentage of 33% and missed 12 of their 15 attempts from three-point range.
With 10:34 remaining in the game, Wagner hit a 3-pointer, marking the beginning of Arkansas’s dominance as they established their first of four 31-point leads at 69-38.
The Razorbacks successfully converted 33 of their 55 attempts from the field, achieving an impressive shooting percentage of 60%, including 9 out of 20 from beyond the arc. Central Arkansas recorded an overall shooting percentage of 33% and converted 7 out of 28 attempts from beyond the arc.
Arkansas will remain inactive until Saturday when it welcomes North Carolina A&T to its home turf. The Citadel will visit Central Arkansas on Monday.
