Fayetteville, Arkansas – Four Gator starters scored in double digits as the eighth-ranked Florida Gators easily defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 71-63 in Fayetteville on Saturday afternoon.

In SEC play, the Hogs fall to 11-5 and 0-3. John Calipari, the head coach of Arkansas, has never begun a team that is 0–3 in conference play since his debut season at the University of Massachusetts.

Additionally, it’s the first time since the 2020–21 season, often known as the “COVID” year, that a team led by Calipari has dropped three straight games.

The Razorbacks had a poor shooting day, making only 30% of their field goals and 18.8% of their three-point attempts.

Adou Thiero, a forward for Arkansas, led all scorers with 17 points, made nine of his 12 free-throw tries, and shot 40% from the field.

Arkansas had numerous opportunities to tie the score, but the Gators’ attack was consistent. But it appeared that the Hogs’ incapacity to get shots to fall was their biggest weakness, which prevented them from winning this afternoon.

With 49 rebounds compared to Arkansas’s 39, Florida had the most.

Arkansas’s bench also had trouble producing much. Trevon Brazile was the only player who added to the scoring totals despite four players coming on from the bench.

Arkansas’ bench scored seven points, while the Gators’ bench scored 19.

Although the Razorbacks did a good job of reaching the line, they struggled to convert free throws.

The Razorbacks outscored the Gators by 11 points in free throws and made 24 of their 35 attempts from the charity line.

The Razorbacks will resume play on Tuesday, January 14 in Baton Rouge against the LSU Tigers. On Saturday, January 18, they will travel to Missouri to complete their road trip for the upcoming week.
