Arkansas laws to take effect in 2025
Little Rock, Arkansas – In the Natural State, new laws will go into effect at the beginning of each year.
The following legislation will take effect in Arkansas:
Act 659, also referred to as the Protect Arkansas Act, stipulates that those convicted of a certain offense after 2024 will be required to complete their entire sentence and will not be eligible for early release on the basis of good behavior. These crimes include rape, violent robbery, kidnapping, capital murder, and first-degree murder.
Organizations participating in the state’s Medicare-managed care plans are required under Act 575 to have a mechanism in place to either minimize or eliminate the requirement for prior authorizations.
Arkansas parents can apply for education freedom accounts beginning with the 2025–2026 academic year. This school voucher program helps parents homeschool or send their kids to private schools.
