Arkansas National Guard assists Arkansas motorists during the winter
Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas National Guard is assisting motorists on icy roads around the state after being notified by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday.
A Guard representative stated that 65 men and women are assisting the Arkansas State Police in the northwest, northeast, and eastern regions of the state. They were involved in assisting with a multi-vehicle tie-up on Interstate 40 in West Memphis on Tuesday.
In that region of the state, members of the 142nd Field Artillery Brigade based in Fayetteville reported assisting drivers. In accordance with the unit’s social media posts, they were working all night to assist drivers who had slid off the road.
Up until Wednesday morning, the winter weather is anticipated to last.
