Little Rock, Arkansas – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced Friday that the Biden-Harris Administration is providing more than $4 million in financing for homelessness support programs in Arkansas.

This is in accordance with HUD’s Continuum of Care program, which allotted $3.6 billion for roughly 7,000 programs that offer support services and housing help to individuals who are homeless, along with expenses for data collecting and planning.

The entire amount of funding awarded to Arkansas was $4,488,131.

Adrianne Todman, HUD Agency Head, stated that these awards represent a substantial investment in resources to eradicate homelessness. Through significant budget increases and initiatives like this one that offer vital funds, driven by a community-centered approach, to rehouse individuals in need, HUD has strengthened its commitment to combating homelessness during the Biden-Harris Administration.

The greatest source of federal grant funding for housing programs and homeless assistance for those suffering homelessness is HUD’s Continuum of Care program.

As someone who has been homeless as a youngster, Regional Administrator Candace Valenzuela remarked, “Being a part of an administration that is carefully investing in solving the problem has been incredible.” “We give Americans like our youth and our veterans the boost they deserve by preventing homelessness, providing supportive housing, and providing mental health care and employment opportunities.”
