Arkansas reported 844 new cases and 42 deaths, record number of daily hospitalizations

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The situation with the Covid-19 in the state is more than alarming as the number are still pretty high and it looks like the latest spread won’t stop anytime soon.
According to latest Covid-19 report, Arkansas added 844 new Covid-19 cases and 42 additional deaths.
What is even more concerning is the fact the number of hospitalizations rose to 1,220, which is 81 more compared to yesterday, the highest daily increase since the start of the pandemic.
Currently, there are a whooping 18,922 active cases. The number of people infected with the virus in critical condition is 250. All of them are on ventilators and their number increased by 15 since Sunday’s report.
Since the start of the pandemic, the state of Arkansas reported a total of 389,280 positive cases and 6,199 deaths as a result of the virus.
The vaccination rate in Arkansas is among the lowest in the country despite state officials’ efforts to convince Arkansans to get vaccinated.
On Wednesday, a Special Session will take place to amend the Act 1002 that bans mask mandates. According to the latest information, school districts will be allowed to decide for themselves if they will require students and school staff to wear masks while indoors.
