ASU supporters excited for the start of the season
Jonesboro, Arkansas – It’s that time of year once more: college football season is here, and Arkansas State students, alumni, and supporters are forming lines to watch the Red Wolves play.
In their home opener, the Red Wolves took on the University of Central Arkansas.
Melinda Miller said she had been tailgating for a very long time prior to Red Wolves games.
We’re excited for football because we’ve been tailgating and attending games for 33 years, according to Miller. “We love football, we’re alumni, and we just like to support our college team because we live in a college town and we want to be here for the red wolves and support them,” Miller added.
Student at A-State Austin Davis says he’s excited to see what the Red Wolves have to offer this season.
“Arkansas State is going to show what we’re made of this year. “I know the boys are coming out here to show that they have been working all summer,” Davis remarked.
On Saturday, people were out early tailgating and cooking delicious meals. There is no greater environment for students like Kenner Gray and Drew Sorrows anyplace else.
“This is a great place to live; everyone is here together, we’re all close, and it’s just a good time,” Sorrows remarked. “There’s food here, there’s music here, it’s just a great time.”
“I’m happy that I get to call myself an A-State student and especially get to enjoy my time here in the pines,” Davis remarked. “We get to enjoy an environment that has been here forever.”
The crowd is all up for the Red Wolves’ matchup with UCA and eager to see if they can start the season with a victory. Others are speculating on their own. “UCA 21; Wolves 40,” stated Gray.
