Batesville-located school named the best school in Arkansas, ranks 105th nationally
Batesville, Arkansas – Late last month, WalletHub released the results of the 2023’s College & University Rankings study and ranked Lyon College as one of the best schools in America. According to the results, Lyon College was named the best college in Arkansas and was ranked 105th on the list of the 500 best schools nationwide.
WalletHub compared more than 900 higher-education institutions in the U.S. across 30 key measures. The data set is grouped into seven categories, such as Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes. The metrics range from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary.
WalletHub conducted this study in an effort to help college-bound seniors choose the best schools within their states. Lyon College has been operating for more than 150 years. Officials with the Lyon College were happy that the college was named among the best in the country.

Lyon College was given 88% out of 99% in the overall rankings. As the best higher-educational facility in Arkansas, Lyon College received a total score of 63.57%. In the student selectivity category, Lyon College ranked 88, in cost and financing it ranked 82, in campus safety it ranked 1, and in campus experience it ranked 591. Lyon was noted for its best-in-state net cost, safety, student-faculty ratio, and admission rate.

“Thanks to scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study opportunities, there are many ways to afford a Lyon College education. Our Financial Aid office works closely with students to explore all available funding. Our goal is to partner with families who desire small classes and personal attention at an affordable price.”
