Beginning on November 1, Little Rock and North Little Rock will have detours due to the I-30 eastbound Arkansas River Bridge’s phase 3 opening
Little Rock, Arkansas – The last stage of traffic changes on Interstate 30 in Little Rock and North Little Rock will start next week, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.
All eastbound lanes on I-30 will be closed due to construction, with detours available starting at 10 p.m. Friday, November 1 through Monday, November 4 at 5 a.m. Construction will not impact westbound traffic.
This will be the third and last stage of traffic shifts to go onto the river bridge, according to ARDOT officials.
Detours from November 1–4.
Traffic on I-30 eastbound and I-630 eastbound to I-30 eastbound will be diverted to Little Rock’s northbound frontage road (Exit 140).
In order to reach the I-30 eastbound river bridge, traffic will proceed onto the northbound frontage road and take the 4th Street on-ramp. When passing the river bridge, I-30 eastbound will only be able to travel in one lane.
Traffic will use the Broadway Street exit (Exit 141) in North Little Rock to cross the bridge. The Broadway Street traffic light will permit eastbound vehicles to exit and enter I-30. Broadway Street traffic will be rerouted to North Little Rock’s Riverfront Drive and North Locust Street.
To get back to I-30 eastbound, traffic will continue on North Locust Street and take the Bishop Lindsey Avenue on-ramp.
Traffic patterns following the Phase 3 weekend are shown below:
According to ARDOT officials, the I-30 eastbound river bridge will have six lanes. Before crossing the river bridge, drivers will have to choose whether to exit to Broadway Street.
To get to Broadway Street, vehicles must use the right lane; to continue east on I-30, they must utilize the three left lanes.
