Bethel A.M.E. Church hosts ‘Souls to the Polls’ voter registration event
Little Rock, Arkansas – Though election day is still more than a month away, the deadline for registering to vote in November is drawing near for individuals who wish to cast a ballot. Voters must register by Monday, October 7, one week from now.
Residents of Little Rock’s Bethel A.M.E. Church spent the day registering the neighborhood. A station put up outside the church by volunteers made the process simple and quick.
A volunteer reports that she assisted a 23-year-old voter who had never registered to vote.
People frequently believe that voting won’t have an impact, but I believe that by encouraging others to vote, we can change that. Jennifer Ivory stated, “I think it’s incredibly vital that you do that as part of your civic responsibility.
During early voting, the church will also provide rides to the polls. Shuttles will be operated for two weeks leading up to early voting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Go to the church’s Facebook page for additional details.
