Blytheville school board selects new superintendent

Blytheville, Arkansas – The Blytheville School District has a new superintendent, after months of looking.
According to Board President Barbara Wells, the school board voted 6-2 Wednesday night to hire Dr. Veronica Perkins to a three-year contract.
Voting in favor of the selection were Wells and board members Tracey Ritchey, Michelle Sims, Carlony Lewis, Erin Carrington, and Desmond Hammett.
Voting against were board members Billy Fair and Tobey Johnson.
Currently, Perkins is the deputy superintendent of schools for the Forrest City School District
Sixteen candidates were selected to be interviewed for the post.
