Caraway holds annual Fourth of July Picnic

Caraway, Arkansas – On Thursday, the local community of Caraway celebrated the Fourth of July with its 78th annual picnic.

Each year, the fire department continues to carry out this event, which has been a tradition since 1946. The event featured a variety of activities, including horseback riding, live music from a number of bands, and merchants from all across Northeast Arkansas.

There is a discussion of the occurrence by Fire Chief Krey Jeffers.

“It started in 1946 when we started our annual 4th of July picnic. Pretty much just the celebrating the ones who fought for our country and celebrating America,” Jeffers said.

The event lasted throughout the entire day and culminated with a fireworks display.
