Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Delta variant is continuing the rising trend in new confirmed Covid-19 numbers in Arkansas on a daily basis.

According to latest report by the Arkansas Department of Health, 686 Arkansans tested positive on Covid-19 yesterday. Four more deaths were reported for the same period.

Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of positive confirmed cases now reached 349,385, while the total number of deaths is 5,909.

Currently, there are 3,763 active cases in Arkansas which is 398 more compared from Monday’s report. Hospitalized are 325 people of which 75 are on ventilators.

Health and state officials urge Arkansas to take the vaccine as soon as possible to stop the spread of the virus and preventing another serious wave. This is what Gov. Asa Hutchinson said on Twitter regarding the latest report:

The high number of cases today makes it clear that the Delta Variant is increasing the spread of the virus. The good news is that vaccinations increased to over 10,000. Let’s keep making progress.
