Covid-19 daily report in Arkansas: Numbers on the rise while officials push for vaccination

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – While state officials push for vaccination, the Covid-19 numbers are on the rise recently in Arkansas.

The latest Covid-19 report indicates 485 new positive confirmed Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and eight reported deaths.

With these numbers, the total number of people who got Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic now reaches 346,180, while the total number of deaths is 5,884.

There are 2,570 active cases statewide, which is an increase of Monday for 251 cases. 285 people are hospitalized of which 64 are on ventilators.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

COVID-19 won’t go away until more people take the vaccine. Until we increase the number of shots, we will continue to have increased numbers of hospitalizations and new cases like we did today. It is sad to see someone go to the hospital or die when it can be prevented.
