Día de los Muertos celebrations at the A-State Museum
Jonesboro, Arkansas – The Arkansas State University Museum will celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Friday, November 1 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Jill Kary, curator of education at the A-State Museum, says that everyone is welcome to attend the free, family-friendly program.
A Hispanic cultural celebration called Día de los Muertos honors loved ones who have passed away, bringing people together.
“Sugar-skull face painting, music, paper flower making, and more, El Día de los Muertos offers non-stop fun for visitors of most ages,” according to Kary, is what spectators can anticipate.
It is suggested that guests bring pictures of departed loved ones.
The main attraction of the evening will be a complex altar celebrating El Día de los Muertos, which is referred to as an ofrenda in Mexico, which means offering. It is encouraged for guests to place handwritten comments and images of their departed loved ones on the ofrenda, according to Kary.
