Doctor stresses the value of vaccinating your child
Jonesboro, Arkansas – The program that saves lives is being celebrated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The group announced on Tuesday that the Vaccines for Children Act was passed thirty years ago.
The program’s goal is to give eligible kids free vaccinations.
According to the analysis, normal childhood vaccines would have avoided over 500 million occurrences of illness, 32 million hospital admissions, and over one million deaths for children born between 1994 and 2023.
The statistics, according to St. Bernards’ medical director of pediatrics, Dr. Enrique Gomez, show that vaccinations are effective.
Dr. Gomez stated, “It’s telling us that vaccines work, vaccines save lives, and vaccines save money.” As doctors and other healthcare professionals, our goal is to see as few sick children as possible and as many children who are truly well and thriving.
Vaccines, according to Dr. Gomez, contribute to herd immunity.
He stated that the risk of diseases like measles, which may be easily avoided by vaccination, increases if parents choose not to vaccinate their children.
He described how immunizations aid in a child’s development of immunity to various illnesses.
“While each one functions differently, some of them function by triggering a reaction in the body that leads to the production of antibodies. These antibodies then serve as a preventative measure against future illnesses,” the speaker explained.
