Downtown Little Rock goes to the dogs with Barkus on Main parade
Little Rock, Arkansas – Sunday’s Barkus on Main Mardi Gras dog parade and block party in Downtown Little Rock has just come to an end.
A parade from 7th and Main to 4th and Main was part of the annual festival. The fun-filled family event also featured a crawfish boil and costume contest.
Red Cross is still offering shelter and assistance to storm victims in Arkansas.
“They’re giving away all kinds of free dog stuff,” participant Emily Cook said. “There’s crawfish and food, it’s awesome, and it’s super fun for all the dogs.”
According to event coordinator Justin Harris, the objective is to foster a family-friendly atmosphere.
“We’re in the dog community, and we all love dogs, let’s create a family fun environment for everyone to come out and enjoy little rock and all its natural beauty.”
Hounds Lounge and the Downtown Little Rock Partnership are hosting Barkus on Main.
A donation drive was also held for neighborhood animal welfare organizations.
