Emergency crews reacting to gas leak in Cleveland County brought on by trees falling during an ice storm
Cleveland County, Arkansas – Highway 79 in Cleveland County near Kingsland has been closed as emergency personnel deal with a gas leak, according to officials with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management.
Public Information for ADEM According to LaTresha Woodruff Officer, complaints of the leak arrived at the Arkansas Department of Transportation at 10:30 a.m.
Woodruff mentioned that local state police reported a tree fell and cut a gas line. She said that there have been no reported injuries.
She continued by saying that workers from the Cleveland County Road Department and the Kingland Fire Department are still on the scene.
State police in the area, according to Woodruff, have informed the locals of the problem, but as of the publication date of this article, there had not been an evacuation.
