Little Rock, Arkansas – Gov. Sanders has activated the 142 Field Artillery Brigade’s winter weather support unit for Arkansas State Police Troop L, it was announced on Tuesday.

Lowell is home to Troop L of the Arkansas State Police.

This event started at noon on Tuesday and lasted until the Arkansas State Police decided that they no longer needed support because of improved road conditions.

The Arkansas National Guard has stated in a news release that they are prepared to support the additional ASP personnel in the northwest and north-central Arkansas region.

Additionally, they are equipped to operate throughout central Arkansas and the Arkansas river valley when the situation calls for it.

According to the Arkansas National Guard, depending on the ASP Troop that needs support, those positions will be provided by Soldiers and Airmen from the 39 Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 87th Troop Command, 142nd Field Artillery Brigade, or the 189th Airlift Wing.

There are five individuals on each squad of the winter weather support teams.

One NCO, four Guardsmen, and an equipment-equipped Humvee made up the group of people.

The Arkansas Natural Guard claims that they will remain in service until they are no longer required.

To help drivers stay safe, the teams will drive along ASP roadways.

The crew is allowed to transport first responder emergency vehicles to a safe region if the need ever arises.
