Governor Asa Hutchinson to hold weekly COVID-19 briefing

Little Rock, Arkansas — Governor Asa Hutchinson is expected to hold a COVID-19 briefing at the Arkansas State Capitol.
On Monday, the state reported 8,698 new virus cases.
The actual number of cases is likely higher because of people testing at home or who are infected and haven’t been tested.
Twelve new deaths were also linked to the virus, bringing the total to 9,628. Hospitalizations fell by five people and the number of Arkansans on a ventilator increased by nine.
“The steady decline in active cases and lower new cases continue to show us moving in the right direction, but we still have work to do on the vaccination front,” the governor said in a tweet.
Governor also reported that the case numbers reflected data from over the weekend.
