Joey Lauren Adams and Rodger Bumpass, two celebrities with ties to Arkansas, are attending Hot Springs Spa-Con
Hot Springs, Arkansas – Two celebrities from Arkansas were added to the Hot Springs Spa-Con guest list on Monday.
Rodger Bumpass and Joey Lauren Adams, both from Natural State, will be among the main attractions at the Hot Springs Convention Center event, according to a Spa-Con Infinity—Version 8 spokesman. The Hot Springs Event Center will host the comic book and pop culture event from September 20 to 22.
Bumpass, who has a history of being a Spa-Con favorite, provides the voice of Squidward in the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants.
Alexis Hampo, special events manager at Visit Hot Springs, stated, “Spa-Con loves Rodger Bumpass.” “He has been coming to this convention for a few years, and having him here is always a pleasure.”
During the 2 p.m. VIP meet and greet on Saturday and Sunday, Bumpass will be present in the expo hall. At 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, he will also conduct a Q&A.
Adams, a native of North Little Rock, is well-known for her film appearances on television and, more recently, as a director of short films that won the Sundance Prize. “Betrayed by My Bridesmaid,” her most recent movie, was filmed entirely in Hot Springs.
“And we are so excited that Joey Lauren Adams will be attending Spa-Con with us this year,” Harpo remarked.
Adams will be available on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., which includes the VIP meet and greet at 2 p.m.
It’s “a really big deal,” according to Harpo, that Bumpass and Adams will be present for the occasion.
Prior announcements for the comics and pop-culture convention featured actors Tohoru Masamune and Minae Noji from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Erin Macdonald, an astrophysicist and former science adviser for the “Star Trek” television series, will also be present.
Notable actors Seth Gilliam and MC Lars, who are performing at the inaugural concert on Friday night, will also be present. Seth Gilliam is best known for playing Father Gabriel Stokes in the television series “Walking Dead.”
