Jonesboro PD K-9 unit makes drug arrest on Friday during traffic stop
Little Rock, Arkansas – On Friday, a traffic stop by a police K-9 team in Jonesboro resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect.
The Jonesboro Police Department wrote on Facebook that on February 8th, Officer Heath Loggains pulled over a white car close to Apache Drive and Red Wolf Boulevard.
According to the police social media post, Loggains saw the driver be tense during the traffic encounter and that his car “showed unconfirmed insurance.”
When Loggains sent his K-9 companion Crash to conduct an “external sniff” of the car, it produced a successful alert.
A rucksack containing around 437 grams of suspected marijuana, 5 grams of suspected THC edibles, 8.5 suspected hydrocodone tablets, and a “significant amount of cash” was discovered after the automobile was searched.
The driver was arrested after all of his belongings were taken.
“Congratulations to this fantastic duo on their great find…we are always proud of our good boy K9 Crash (and his handler too),” the JPD said in its Facebook post.
