Lawmakers from Arkansas comment on the Trump indictment

Little Rock, Arkansas – Several Arkansas lawmakers responded quickly to the news that former President Donald Trump had been charged in connection with alleged hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Soon after the news broke, the governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, urged the New York district attorney involved in the case to resign on social media.

Sanders previously held the position of White House press secretary for the longest period of time during Trump’s term.

Asa Hutchinson, a former governor, also issued a statement, describing the news as a “Bad day for America.”

Hutchinson went on to say that even though there are real facts that back up the accusations, Trump should still be given the benefit of the doubt when he appears before a US court.

In the upcoming days, more feedback is anticipated from the other Arkansas delegation.
