Man charged with stealing a car at gunpoint
Jonesboro, Arkansas – Following reports that a guy stole a car while threatening the victim with a gun, police have opened an investigation.
Officer Ronnie Craig was dispatched to the 500 block of Melrose Street on Sunday, September 8, at around four in the morning, in response to a disturbance, according to an incident report from the Jonesboro Police Department.
When the police arrived, the victim informed them she was standing outside the house with her two companions when she stepped inside and saw the suspect rummaging through someone’s pocketbook. She then challenged him.
The victim claimed that after stealing some keys and attempting to enter the car outside, the suspect pointed a revolver at each of the three victims.
The suspect attempted to take the gun from the second victim after she drew out her own.
According to the report, “all parties involved began to fight over the firearms.”
The vehicle, a black 2020 Dodge Charger Scat Pack, was taken by the suspect. The automobile was discovered on the 2200 block of Cybel Circle later that day.
The report said the suspect is thought to be a Black male in his early twenties, but no arrests have been made.
The culprit will probably face charges of aggravated robbery if they are apprehended.
The Jonesboro Police Department’s number to report information is 870-935-5551.
