Organization helps bring hope to Jacksonville recovery efforts
Jacksonville, Arkansas – Helping people affected by recent storms and sharing the joy of Christianity were among the messages delivered Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Jacksonville.
That was all thanks to Forged by Fire, a New Orleans-based catastrophe aid non-profit.
The charity has been preparing meals for folks cleaning up the pieces after last month’s tornado, demonstrating that they support more than just prayers, but also acts.
“We come with our feeding ministry, and we like to think that when we serve that plate of food, it’s that chance to give a little hope to that person,” Paul Ernewein with Forged by Fire said. “It’s not just a bowl of food, it’s a bowl of hope, for a better day.”
Forged by Fire has assisted others in Florida, Texas, and Alabama in their recovery from natural disasters.
Their next trip is Rolling Forks, Mississippi, which was severely damaged by an EF-4 tornado last month.
