Over 8,000 outages reported in Arkansas, North Arkansas Electric working to restore power

Little Rock, Arkansas – In order to assist over 300 customers in power outages on Monday, electricity companies across the state headed to Northeast Arkansas.
Storms Saturday knocked out power to thousands in the Ozarks.
According to North Arkansas Electric, 8,000 outages were reported at the peak. The highest concentration of outages happened in Baxter and Izard Counties, the company said.
Around 60-70 miles per hour winds were reported which caused down trees and power lines and damaged power poles.
The North Arkansas Electric Cooperative also warns you to never get close to a downed power line and to report it.
On Tuesday, storms are expected to return to the state with potential severe thunderstorms possible.
