Arkansas – Initially set to take place on Monday, part of the I-40 bridge that connects Arkansas and Tennessee was opened on Saturday.

The bridge has been closed with months since May, when it was closed for repairs after a crack was discovered in the span.

As of now, the bridge is opened only for eastbound traffic.

Since it was closed for repairs, officials decided to make additional repairs which didn’t seem serious as the crack, which took longer to reopen than initially planned.

As we already reported, span’s westbound lanes are set to reopen on August 6, but officials informed that it might happen earlier than that.

We will inform the public once more details are available in the upcoming days.
