People come together for Red, White, and You blood drive
Paragould, Arkansas – During the Red, White, and You blood drive that took place on Wednesday, individuals contributed to making a difference by donating blood.
The Paragould Community Center was one of the places where individuals had the opportunity to lend a hand to representatives of the American Red Cross.
It was said by the volunteer Susan Johnson that they were able to surpass their objective.
“We always have a call for blood, this one today, we goal for 40 units, and we’ve already surpassed that, so we’re very thankful for the people here in Paragould for coming today and donating,” she said.
According to Johnson, the fact that the blood drive that took place on Wednesday was successful provided a wonderful opportunity to witness a community coming together to assist in a time of need.
“Whether it’s you, whether it’s a friend or someone in your family, you are gonna need some time in your lifetime a donation of blood, and it’s the easy gift that you can give,” she said.
In addition, the Red, White, and You blood drive was held at the St. Bernards Auditorium in Jonesboro. A total of 96 units were donated, which was just short of the 100,000 units that the Red Cross had hoped to collect.
