Pine Bluff, Arkansas- TRUE VINE “E” MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1001 W. Second Ave., invites the community to join them for a morning of praise and worship as the Rev. Leon Williams Jr. delivers his first sermon. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. “As God in His infinite wisdom sees fit to elevate this brother to a higher calling in Christ Jesus, your presence will help us to encourage Rev. Leon Williams Jr. for the journey ahead,” a spokesman said.

  • ST. PETER’S ROCK MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will celebrate its 131st anniversary at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Glenn Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The celebration will also be held on the parking lot.
  • NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will open its food pantry from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 14. Food will be given out to anyone who stops by, a spokesman said. Also at New Community: Sunday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be E.L. Franklin, apostle at New Bethel #1 Outreach Ministries. Saturday, Nov. 28, at 5 p.m., the church will host A Night of Love with Shell Marks, a local gospel music artist and a praise team leader at New Community. Marks’ guests will include Courtney Wright & Triumphant, Nu Emage, Keenon Coleman, Hearts, Johnson Family and Richard Roberts. New Community observes social distancing and health guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC.) Hand sanitizers are located at each entrance and ushers offer masks to those who don’t have them.
  • HOUSE OF BREAD DELIVERANCE CHURCH, 500 S. Main St., will open its food pantry Monday, Nov. 16, from 1-4:30 p.m. or once the 200 food boxes run out. Boxes will be given away on a first come, first served basis. Only one box per household will be available. Everyone must bring proof of address (utility bills and driver’s license.) Due to the pandemic, the process is a drive thru event. Everyone is required to wear a mask. Police officers will be on duty to direct traffic.   • UNITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 2712 S. Bay St., will host rehearsals for a community praise dance team. Youth 5-15 years old are invited to participate in the team. There’s no fee to participate. There will be four teams of 10 to start with and girls and boys are encouraged to attend. Practices will be held Tuesdays and Saturdays at the church.   • ONE PINE BLUFF PRAYING TOGETHER SERVICES will continue by conference call at 1-978-990-5000 and access code 127365# . Prayer services will be hosted by the following ministries from 6-7 p.m. on these dates: Nov. 15 — Victory Church Pine Bluff, 717 W. 32nd Ave.; and Nov. 22 — Turning Point Ministries, 508 S. Mulberry St. Also, the service will be held on Nov. 29 in conjunction with the Christmas Tree Lighting in downtown Pine Bluff at the park at Sixth Avenue and Main Street.
  • ST. LUKE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 32 School St., will host its annual Taste of Fall as a drive-thru and pick-up event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 14. The Taste of Fall items will include frozen main-dish and vegetable casseroles, chicken and dressing, pies, cakes, cookies, jams, jellies and canned beets, according to a news release.
