Pine Bluff Police add kiosks to broadcast information

Two public service kiosks inside the city will be installed by the Pine Bluff Police Department.

The kiosks would allow the police department to quickly get information out to the community, Sgt. Richard Wegner told Pine Bluff Today. They are connected to the internet and can be updated to broadcast information in real-time, ranging from updates of future events to public threats. They will warn the public for wanted persons and notify them when wanted persons are captured.

“Although many people use social media there is still a portion of our citizens that do not use social media. These kiosks give the department an opportunity to reach those citizens as well,” Sgt. Wegner said.

One kiosk will be installed in the Wal-Mart Supercenter and the other in Super 1 Foods at 28th and Hazel.
