Police in North Little Rock make an arrest in the homicide on August 31
Little Rock, Arkansas – The North Little Rock Police Department reported that they have made an arrest in relation to a killing that occurred on August 31.
For his part in the murder, 41-year-old Cody Shontel Howard was taken into custody on Thursday.
Officers responded to 2308 North Schaer Street on August 31 in response to an unidentified issue complaint.
Matilda Howard, who was also identified as Cody’s mother, was found dead at the residence when police got there, according to the reports.
After being alerted, detectives from the NLRPD arrived on the spot and started an investigation.
Following their investigation, the detectives named Cody as a suspect in the case.
Detectives detained Cody on October 13 and accused him of capital murder because of his role in his mother’s death.
At the Pulaski County Regional Detention facility, he is currently being detained without bond.
