Red Cross and Hot Springs Fire Department to install free smoke alarms in homes
Little Rock, Arkansas – On Thursday, the Hot Springs Police Department and the Red Cross serving Greater Arkansas made an announcement about installing free smoke alarms for area households.
The free installations are a part of the Hot Springs Sound the Alarm home fire safety event, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 25.
“We are grateful to everyone who is supporting the Sound the Alarm event to help keep our neighborhoods safe from home fires,” said Lori Arnold-Ellis, Executive Director of Red Cross serving Greater Arkansas. “Home fires are a constant threat in our community, accounting for most of our disaster responses. These efforts will make a lasting difference to help save lives and protect those who are most vulnerable.”
If you would like to participate by either installing an alarm, would like to get a free smoke alarm, or would like to make a financial donation visit https://www.redcross.org/.
Around 270 smoke alarms have already been placed by Red Cross serving Greater Arkansas and its partners, making 100 homes safer for families.
