Schools in the Little Rock School District launch the food drive “Stock the Rock the Wright Way”
Little Rock, Arkansas – On Wednesday, the Little Rock School District will assist in providing food for needy families and kids.
On Wednesday, Superintendent Dr. Jermall Wright opened the “Stock the Rock the Wright Way” event.
A program is underway to supply some of the district’s schools with food. The most vulnerable pupils and their families will then receive the meals.
Just before spring break, when pupils are off from school and cannot access school meals, the event will take place.
“This is a long time coming and we need it in our schools,” Chico Elementary teacher Donna Hall said. “A lot of our parents may not get our listening ear to tell us what they need, but we see the struggle we see it, a lot of times, on their faces.”
There will be a drive-thru drop-off on March 15 at lunch.
The district intends to spread the word over the next two weeks.
