Little Rock, Arkansas – Seis Puentes Hispanic Outreach held its fourth annual back-to-school convention in celebration of the start of classes, assisting families in preparing for the upcoming year.

While some people have already begun school, others are just a few days away from their big day.

With this deadline drawing near, Seis Puentes was committed to fulfilling their portion of the giving back.

It is not difficult what we do. All you have to do is roll up your sleeves and go to work. Thus, we’re incredibly happy to be able to support our community in this way,” Raul Fernandez, Executive Director of Sies Puentes Hispanic Outreach, stated.

Every year, the Seis Puentes Back to School Con event expands and now features a family resource fair, haircuts, food, school supplies, and more.

“We made roughly 100 backpacks our first year. We did 300 in our second year. We produced 600 backpacks the next year, and this year we anticipate producing roughly 900, according to Fernandez.

A major goal of the event each year is to reduce some of the financial burden that parents bear during this time of year and to support children in developing their sense of self-worth.

“It is understandable that everyone wants to appear well on their first day of classes. Fernandez added, “And who doesn’t want to stroll in with a new backpack and new school supplies?” “We want to make sure we can spread our kindness and smiles and work with our community.”

Fernandez stressed the value of giving back in his speech. “You know, these folks look out for our community and for us. “Cudia los que te quitan” means to look after those who look after you. Together, our small actions can add up to a lot. And this incident, in my opinion, is a prime illustration of that,” Fernandez stated.

Seis Puentes claims that rather than hoarding all of their extra supplies, they decided to donate them to other nearby schools in an effort to promote unity.
