Several people nationwide experience Boost Mobile disruptions, and those in central Arkansas react
Conway, Arkansas – Customers have been inconvenienced as a result of a cyber-attack on the phone provider Boost Mobile.
Many claim they experience difficulties making phone calls and paying bills.
Latoya Stanley runs a tiny business that relies on the phone to stay active, but a few weeks ago everything changed.
“I was in contact with somebody around the 7th because my phone just kept dropping calls and they just told me it would be 24-72 hours, but it’s been going on longer than that. It’s been almost a week now,” Boost Mobile customer, Latoya Stanley said.
Due to a cyber security breach at the end of February, consumers are unable to contact support desks, log onto their accounts, or make payments through Boost Mobile.
“It’s really hard, and it’s embarrassing and I don’t know what to do,” Stanley said.
Latoya Stanly recently launched her own cleaning company, and she claimed that the inability to receive calls has created a significant hole in her financial situation.
“I say about 2,000-3,000 a week, I can’t get any calls, I missed a couple of contracts and they just keep telling me there is nothing they can do about it,” Stanley said.
A statement on Boost Mobile’s website stated that they discovered some data had been taken from their system a few days after the incident and that they are working as quickly as they can to get things back to normal.
Latoya Stanley expressed her hope that it occurs here quickly, nevertheless.
“I’m hoping they get the phones back on so we can go back to your regular lives,” Stanley stated.
All lines should be operational again, according to a local Boost Mobile official, though they do not yet know when accounts will be restored on their website.
This is still being looked into.
