Soon after Sunday morning midnight, a shooting in Little Rock claimed one life
Little Rock, Arkansas – The Little Rock Police Department was contacted by the Arkansas State Police just after midnight on Sunday regarding a homicide investigation in Lonoke County.
According to an LRPD social media post, LRPD investigators were alerted to a shooting that happened nearby the 12300 block of Chenal Parkway at the same time they were providing assistance.
Later, LRPD officers discovered that the two occurrences were actually the same and that the alleged homicide took place in Little Rock.
As soon as a suspect was identified, 25-year-old Joshua Shorty Jr. was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
According to the LRPD, the victim was a black adult guy. As of 9 a.m. on Sunday, the next of kin had not been notified.
The inquiry is still ongoing.
