The band from Lake Hamilton High School gets ready for their march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Pearcy, Arkansas – Parades are coming up soon because Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. A Natural State high school band will soon march in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and take the stage nationally.
The “Powerband of Arkansas” from Lake Hamilton High School found out last year that they had been chosen to march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. John Schultz, the director of bands, stated that they are still practicing to make it spectacular as the big day draws near.
“There will be 188 students participating in the march.” “The kids will look like a million bucks,” Shultz remarked.
Since they will be in New York City, Schultz stated that the performance’s theme is around the joy of the holiday spirit.
“We’d like to start Christmas early,” Shultz stated. We’re doing this country Christmas with rock around the tree, and it’s a custom design. These adorable Christmas jumpers will be worn by the students.
Emma Ward, a senior clarinetist, expressed her excitement about the opportunity, saying the band has been practicing for months.
According to Ward, “I can’t wait to march through New York City.”
According to Easton Smith, a senior snare drums player, this has added even more significance to his final year.
Smith remarked, “We have worked diligently every day.” “This is so much better than I could have ever dreamed for my senior year.”
Both claim that the band is prepared to perform for audiences throughout the Natural State and across the nation in addition to those in New York City.
