Arkansas – It looks like the Delta wave has reached its peak and now the situation is slowing down a little bit in Arkansas, at least for now.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health report on Friday, Arkansas recorded 1,749 new cases and 33 deaths.

Since the start of the pandemic, the state recorded a total of 473,885 cases and 7,232 deaths.

Currently, there are 19,853 active cases which is 111 more compared to Thursday.

What came as a small relief for the hospitals is the lowered number in hospitalizations in the latest report. According to ADH, there are 1,131 people in hospitals which is 18 less compared to Thursday.

There are 292 people on ventilators which is 24 less compared to Thursday.

Benton, Pulaski and Washington are the counties with the most cases reported on Friday with 127, 125 and 120 cases respectively.

“The new case count is lower today than last Saturday. During your weekend activities stay safe. Wear a mask if you can’t social distance. Protect yourself and your community by getting vaccinated,” Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said on Twitter.
