The farm bill currently stalled in Congress is anticipated to affect the natural environment significantly
Little Rock, Arkansas – A farm bill currently stalled at the U.S. Capitol may significantly affect farmers in Arkansas.
The farm bill manages a variety of agricultural and food initiatives, which are vital for the state of Arkansas.
Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward emphasized the significance of funding, noting that leaders project losses of at least $35 billion for the agriculture sector. Arkansas is projected to face losses amounting to $170 million.
“Agriculture is our state’s largest industry, so when it takes a hit, it significantly impacts many rural communities. A lot of people across the state feel the effects, creating a ripple throughout the economy,” stated Ward.
If Congress fails to pass the new bill, an extension of the 2018 law will be necessary.
