The first-ever Equity Summit is held by City Year to honor unwavering dedication to education
Little Rock, Arkansas – Today’s ceremony marks the last of three days of City Year’s celebration of 20 years of service to Central Arkansas kids.
Today’s event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day aims to unite communities for a day of conversation about how to continue to be a career support base for future generations.
Thought leaders, educators, and other individuals dedicated to advocacy and change in local and distant communities will present and participate in panel discussions at the grand event.
“After 20 years, City Year remains steadfast in our dedication to guaranteeing every Central Arkansas student has the chance to realize their greatest potential,” stated Jennifer Cobb, executive director and senior vice president of the nonprofit.
“This Equity Summit is yet another example of how when we join forces, we can help bridge gaps and build brighter futures for the next generation.”
Discussions about inclusivity for English language learners and the social determinants of health and how they affect students will be among the topics covered in the panel event.
Engaging discussions on establishing career pathways and other methods that have received praise are featured on the panels.
The keynote speaker for the event is Steven Spaloss, Executive Vice President and Chief Equity Officer of City Year.
