Arkansas – While the world is in fear of the new Covid-19 variant called Omicron, the situation in Arkansas seems to be more than positive since no new deaths were reported in Sunday’s daily report, while the overall number of active cases decreased.

According to the Sunday’s report, there have been new 374 Covid-19 confirmed cases added to the statistics and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic now reaches 527,587.

Since no new Covid-19 related deaths were added in the report, the total number of Covid-19 related deaths remains the same as yesterday, 8,653.

What is really positive news is the decreasing number of active cases across Arkansas which now is 5,829 active cases, 64 less compared to the day before.

There is slight increase in the number of hospitalizations. According to the report by the Arkansas Department of Health, there are 363 hospitalized patients which is 9 more compared to Saturday.

There are 67 people on ventilator support, one less compared to the day before.

Counties with most new cases are Benton, Pulaski and Craighead adding 66, 37 and 25 respectively.

This is what Gov. Hutchinson said on Twitter when presenting the daily report:

No new deaths and active cases dropping is good to see along with more than 5,000 new vaccinations today. This is great news as we continue to fight new incoming variants and must do all we can to prevent more cases.
