Little Rock, Arkansas – Following the passing of student manager Josh Claxton on Saturday, the UA Little Rock men’s basketball team is in grief.

Mark Claxton, his father, claimed that he now completely comprehends the anguish of a parent.
“His dream of playing collegiate basketball never came true,” Mark remarked. He enjoyed every second of it, so this is the next greatest thing to happen with the UA Little Rock basketball team.

The team is left feeling hurt and shell-shocked, according to head coach Darrell Walker.

Walker stated, “I told his father that I wanted him to take Josh’s place on the bench the next time we play at home.”

Josh was just 27 years old and working toward a sports management master’s degree.
Walker said his enthusiasm was infectious.

Walker remarked, “He would come and ice my cooler upstairs because he was always kind of hyper and active.” “Good morning, coach. How are you doing?” The day is going well! Let’s tackle it today!

With a few of games remaining in the season, the team is inspired to never forget Josh’s memory and enthusiasm.

He quickly forged a close relationship with them. And that’s really meaningful to me,” Mark added.

Mark expressed his gratitude to the athletics department and UA Little Rock, saying the staff truly welcomed and made his kid feel at home.
