Little Rock, Arkansas – With the goal of providing prison care packages to every jail in the state of Arkansas, Fellowship Bible Church has started a new prison campaign.

Hundreds of volunteers have already come out to support Fellowship Bible Church in its mission of bringing love to the prison system.

Entire Arkansas prison care packages, numbering in the thousands, are being assembled for distribution to every prisoner and correctional officer.

In fact, we have been collaborating with one of our regional partners. They go under the name “pathway to freedom.” They are one of our local partners; they work in the Hawkins men’s unit. However, we went in and began serving them there, where we witnessed the ministry and the changes in lives that take place within the jails. Thus, we thought, ‘What action might we do to take this to every prison?'” stated Pastor Brock Dowdy of Fellowship Bible Church, Local Mission.

Socks, personal hygiene items, food, a little gospel book, and other items are being provided by the church and will be included in each gift.

“What matters most to us is that they should know the gospel. Thus, this is our chance to accept these care packages and distribute them to each and every prisoner and correctional staff member. That’s our goal, according to Dowdy.

“We know that God cares for every single person, and not only is it an opportunity for us to invest in our community and the prison systems, but it’s also a way for us to just share God’s love,” Volunteer Coordinator Camille Norman said.

By the project’s conclusion, an estimated 2,000 volunteers are anticipated to have contributed in some way.

It’s enjoyable. There are a wide variety of people down there. Our children are scurrying around, hurling rubbish, and stacking boxes. But there’s a lot of happiness and a high level of energy,” Norman remarked.

“It’s amazing how many people are coming out to serve and volunteer their time, knowing what we can accomplish with these packages. “Observing their delight in it and realizing the potential impact on the Arkansas prison system is really cool,” Dowdy remarked.

Numerous Fellowship Bible Church locations have already held packing sessions; the most recent was the midtown location, which completed 4,500 parcels.

This Wednesday is the last packing night for Fellowship.

Throughout November, they will be handing out their jail care gifts.
